Quality Pet Care
Specialized Pet Care offers a variety of services to pet owners. Working in the veterinary field since 1985, and comfortable with handling dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits, proprietor Marilynn Hanson began pet sitting in 1991 and has now branched out into a variety of animal care services.
Pet Sitting
In home visits include:
- Feeding/water.
- Walk or play time.
- Pick up/box scooping.
- Medications if needed.
The number of visits can be customized to help keep your pet on its schedule. Usually dogs get a minimum of two visits a day, cats and other pets one visit. We can discuss what works for your pet and the charges on an individual basis.
Mobile Services
- In home nail trims.
- Helping owners who have pets that need fluids given, or injections administered.
- Some light grooming such as sanitary trims for chunky pets or elderly pets.
- Expressing anal glands.
- Wound care, or catheter/feeding tube care.
- Hospice care, to assist you in things that you may feel uncomfortable with, or assist your pet while you are at work. I’ve cared for many cancer patients who needed assistance walking and being cleaned after their potty trips.
- Elder pet consultations, to help you make caring for your elderly pet as easy and simple for you as possible. Then you can spend more quality time with your elderly pet.
- New puppy and kitten consultations, to get you and your new friend off on a good start. I help with advice to make life easier for you, and help keep your new pet from learning bad habits.
- Post veterinary visit consultations, for those times you feel overwhelmed by all your veterinarian has explained to you regarding your pet’s health condition. I am not a veterinarian, and I am not giving medical advice, but I can help explain conditions and treatment options you’ve been given and help you craft a list of questions for your next veterinarian visit so you can fully understand what your pet is dealing with.
- Pet matchmaking. If you are seeking a new companion and have questions before embarking on the search there are ways I can help. We can work together to determine what would be a good fit with your lifestyle and match you with a few pets that fill the requirements, then meet them in person. Providing some direction can assure you are both happy in the new relationship and there will be less stress and surprises for both of you.
